Nobody takes image files more seriously than the IT professionals involved with homeland security.

That's why Nate Lindstrom, Business Consultant for Black & Veatch in Overland Park, Kansas, looked for fast, solid solutions for the issues he faced with homeland security-related documents. Black & Veatch had image files that needed to be converted into PDF files that often need to be seen by people at a number of sites along the Homeland Security network.

"Our file sizes can be pretty massive. We have both color and black-and-white files to deal with, and have complex content," Lindstrom said. "The key was to find compression that allowed storage on a database quickly."

The Black & Veatch team discovered CVISION online through an Internet search. They read through the CVISION site, checked out the client list and downloaded the trial version of PdfCompressor. Before long, they were in touch with CVISION staff for comprehensive solutions in response to their digital imaging and compression needs.

"CVISION's OCR product is about as good as it gets right now," Lindstrom added. "And the compression is absolutely amazing. We can achieve compression ratios of 9x or 10x with ease-and often see compression ratios higher than that!"

"CVISION saved us time, and ultimately money. The technology solutions were matched by the customer support service we've received from the CVISION staff. They made a big difference."

"We constantly face high pressure deadlines. Documents circulate throughout the Homeland Security network to Congress and back. To my knowledge, there have been no compression or imaging hitches since we implemented CVISION Technologies."
