Grounds for JPEG Conversion
Jpeg, an acronym for Joint Photographic Experts Group, is a standardized image compression mechanism. It compresses full-color or grayscale images of natural, real-world scenes, that is images represented by pixels on the computer screen. Almost all images that you come across on websites are jpeg images. Although the jpeg format is popular and is widely used, it is not the ideal format for file sharing purposes. A better option for such purpose is PDF. Unlike jpeg, PDF or Portable Document Format provides security features, for which it is the preferred format for file sharing. If you store your image in a PDF file, you can ensure that no one other than yourself can edit the image. Although others will be able to view it they will not be able to tamper with the file, and this ensures that your original image remains the same.
