CVISION ANNOUNCES CVISTA IMAGE COMPRESSION SUITE 2.0

20-to-1 Compression of TIFF and PDF Images Now a Reality

Queens, NY - July 23, 2001 - CVISION Technologies, LLC, developers of intelligent imaging solutions that simplify and enhance the usability of scanned documents, today announced the 2.0 release of its CVista suite of image compression products. CVista 2.0 offers numerous new features including the ability to compress bitonal and grayscale PDF and TIFF images to 5% of their original size, auto-redaction of document images, and support for electronic and digital signatures.

"CVISION has always been the leader in bitonal image compression," says Steve Talmud, VP of Sales. "With this release, CVISION offers its clients the ability to compress scanned images of virtually any format or type - TIFF, PDF, JPG, JPEG 2000, GIF, and handwritten correspondence in bitonal, grayscale, and color. With CVista 2.0, documents of all types transmit faster and are more usable than ever before, thanks to our search, annotation, and electronic signature support."

"Our customers are increasingly asking us for PDF support," continued Mr. Talmud. "With CVista 2.0, we provide the technology to compress PDF files to 1/20th of their size and efficiently stream these scanned documents to clients both on the Web and on wireless devices. Our new random access feature gives clients the capability to view and transfer files without concern about image file size. And our ability to convert TIFF images to searchable PDF files provides our clients with a capability that was previously cost-prohibitive."

CVista's electronic signature support allows users to electronically approve documents by affixing their electronic signature to a file.
