What is OCR?
OCR, which stands for optical character recognition, enables your computer to read and extract information from files that you have scanned. Normally when you scan something, it becomes an image. But with OCR, you are able to convert that image into a PDF files which would allow you to work with it and it also becomes text-searchable. This technology can also be implemented into other tasks such as invoice processing.
How can OCR help process invoices?
Processing invoices is something that is usually done manually. Normally, you would have people go through the data and enter them into the database and this could be a very long process. On the other hand, if you have OCR, the computer can now extract the information on its own and all you need to do is just oversee and make sure everything is going well. Now that the process is being automated, this will free up the time that would originally be spent working on it.
There are different softwares out there that can help you process invoices but if you were to choose one, you would want one that will give you a low rate of errors, and also it best fits your requirements and needs.
