Make a PDF smaller

Make a PDF smaller

PDF files are universally known, but people never realize the usefulness of this format. Even less understand how to manage the size of a PDF file. PDFs can grow quite large when they are loaded with videos, graphics and images – making it nearly impossible to e-mail them to other people. Making the PDF smaller is a necessity in these situations and it is easy.

How do you make a PDF smaller

PDF files can be made smaller through the use of two methods: lossy and lossless compression. These two methods will get the job done, but at varying degrees. Lossy compression sacrifices the quality of any objects within the file in order to reduce its size. Sometimes the file is saved as a .JPG, GIF or .JPG2000 in order to reduce the size. This will perform a considerable reduction, but at the sake of your work. Lossless compression is the opposite of lossy, as it does not sacrifice any quality within the file, keeping it exactly the same. Lossless is performed through the use of Winrar or Winzip. The file zipping allows the file to be unzipped and accessed later one. The quality is nearly identical each time after the file is unzipped.

Make a PDF smaller software

Software for making a PDF smaller can be found on the internet. Many tools offer simple compression tools, so it may be in your best interest to buy a compression tool. Commercial-grade tools offer great tools such as batch compression and many formats. Also, CVision Technologies offers a web-based tool in order to see how it works.
