What is image compression?
Image compression allows you to shrink an image file down from its original size to a more compact, manageable size. The size of a file is particularly important when it comes to sharing the file, as larger files are more difficult to send and upload. Image compression retains the original file but makes it smaller, and therefore easier to use.
How is PDF image compression unique?
PDF image compression is better than other types of image compression due to some special properties of PDF files. First of all, PDF files allow for fairly high rates of compression, significantly greater than TIFF, for example. Most importantly, however, PDF uses lossless compression algorithms, producing small files with all of the information from the original file.
Software for batch PDF image compression
There are different types of software available for PDF image compression. For professional use, you should look for software with batch processing capabilities, as this will allow you to process files in bulk. CVISION offers a compression tool with batch processing capabilities called PdfCompressor. With compression rates of up to 100x, PdfCompressor is easily the best on the market.
