Can all OCR software recognize handwriting, or is this a special feature?
Answer:
Not all OCR programs can recognize handwriting. OCR is designed to read printed text only, but there is another tool called ICR, or intelligent handwriting recognition, which can recognize handwritten text. ICR uses different algorithms from OCR, and is sometimes found in forms processing tools, which allow you to automate data entry.
