You can use OCR to enable your computer to recognize characters in any image that contains text. Keep in mind that OCR works better for higher quality images, so if you have a document that is extremely low resolution with a great deal of noise, it might be difficult for the OCR software to work well. To handle poor quality images, I would recommend professional OCR tools with advanced image processing, such as Maestro Recognition Server from CVISION Technologies.
