Online OCR of PDF

December 11th, 2009 by Marsha

Question:
Is online OCR of PDF files actually effective?

Answer:
OCR tools have varying levels of power and accuracy that determine their effectiveness. In general, online OCR tools are reasonably effective, especially when the document that you are working with has good image quality. However, they lose accuracy with poorer resolution images, and they are very inconvenient to use when processing large quantities of data. If online OCR is not enough, you can try downloading other solutions. One excellent option is Maestro Recognition Server from CVISION, which has near-perfect accuracy and industrial power.
