Question: I am trying to see the stats on how the backlog is going and it is very slow
We have 7 machines 24 hrs / day, we only process about 4,000 tiffs per machine, that is 28,000 a day. That is too low. Is it or am I thinking that way? I have a back log now of 200,000 + new entries I am holding off in another queue until I am done with these ones.
I was thinking if you can give me a license on the other machines that I used to run the software on HS_8,9,…. And you can take it off from one of the existing machines. This will double the power for us to process these files, unless you can think of we can do something else
Answer: The processing doesn’t depend on how many files it processes but how many pages. So if you are processing with OCR you should expect about 3 seconds a page per process.
Please make sure that on all your machines all your processors are fired up, and processing pages.

Question: I recently downloaded the CVista PDF Compressor Desktop Edition. When I select a Word document for compression, then Run Job- nothing happens even though the pop-up box appears that says “Compressing.”
Is this software able to convert doc files? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Question: We need a PDF compression solution. A colleague had recommended your compression product, PdfCompressor. Our organization deals with scanned images that can be either color or black & white. The scanners output are either PDF or TIFF files. Do you offer a trial of the compression product?
Answer: Yes, we do offer a trial of PdfCompressor, I have attached it below. We do accept PDFs and TIFFs as input for compression. You said you have black & white files, as well as color files. For B&W files, we can achieve compression rates of 10% the original file size, for color documents, the compression rates are as much as 1% the original size.

Question: I am interested in a TIFF compression solution. My scanner outputs TIFF files that are large in storage size. I need to compress the TIFF files, and ideally convert the TIFFs into compressed PDFs.
Answer: Yes, we offer a TIFF compression solution. We can compress your TIFF files, and convert them into compressed, searchable PDF files. If your TIFF files are black and white, which they often are, we can achieve compress rates of 1/10th the original TIFF.
We offer a free 30-day trial of our software, see the link below:

Question: After looking through your website, I see you offer PDF compression solutions. I have a couple of questions regarding PDF compression software:
1. Do you offer a free trial of your PDF compression software?
2. What are the top business advantages of PDF compression?
3. What are your PDF compression rates?
4. Can you compress TIFFs and convert them into PDFs?
Answer: Thanks for contacting CVISION, I can help you with your questions. Our PDF compression software is called PdfCompressor. In response to your questions:
1. Yes, we offer a free evaluation copy of our PDF compression software, the evaluation software is valid for 30 days. Here is the link to the free trial:

2. The biggest advantages for PDF compression are improved document transmission and accessibility. Scanned documents are bloated in file size, with compression; these documents can be opened, shared, and emailed instantly.
3. For black & white scanned documents, CVISION can obtain PDF compression rates of 1/10 the original size. For color scanned documents, we can obtain compression rates of 1/100 the original size.
4. Yes, PdfCompressor can convert TIFF documents into compressed PDFs.

Question: I would like to compress all my files, electronic and scanned, in various formats to PDF. Will the output files always be significantly smaller than the input files?
Answer: Generally, most files are somewhat bloated and can be significantly compressed before storing in a database or uploading to the web. This is especially true for image files which can often be reduced by a factor of 10x or more for black and white and 100x or more for color. However, there is no guarantee that all files will compress using CVISION PdfCompressor.
In particular, files that are already in electronic format may compress dramatically or not at all. For example, generated business invoices may already be as small as possible, entirely electronic, with no redundant font information. On the other hand, sometimes generated invoices contain corporate logos which might account for 90% of the invoice file size. In such a case, a reduction of 10x or more is still possible using a compression module such as CVISION PdfCompressor by i. compressing the image streams, and ii. sharing these image objects across the multi-page PDF document.
In short, reducing file size for web-based applications is often non-trivial, but may well be a crucial part of getting the application to run efficiently. Trying various compression options to see what works is a good idea. Alternatively, submitting your data to have the “experts” take a look at it, is highly recommended.
If you are interested in submitting files for compression, please email: support@cvisiontech.com. We will gladly look at them, and inform you of the necessary settings to compress the files.

Question: I have several TIFF files on my computer, which takes up massive amounts of space. I want to compress all those TIFF files. How can I compress those TIFF files, without making it a PDF file?
Answer: Our PDF conversion technology features cutting-edge compression and recognition software, generating an intelligent scanned image document with an embedded OCR layer and full text search ability. We can then compress the TIFF file into PDF format which will greatly reduce the size. We also have a de-compressor which is included in the software that allows you to convert the PDF back into TIFF format.
