Question:
What software do you have to shrink PDFs? And what are the advantages of using your software to shrink PDFs as opposed to software from another company?
Answer:
Our PdfCompressor software is the best way to shrink PDFs. It can shrink PDFs to as small as 1/100th of their original size. However, shrinking PDFs isn’t the only thing it does; it also includes the most accurate OCR on the market, which can make your PDFs text searchable, and can convert 15 file formats to PDF files that can then be shrunk. It is especially useful if you need to shrink many PDFs, as you can use it to automatically shrink batches of PDFs using the batch and watched folder modes. Rather than taking my word for it, you can download the free trial version and use it to shrink PDFs in order to make an informed decision about whether or not it fits your needs.

Question:
I have a bunch of JPEG files that I need to convert to PDF, but I’m afraid that PDF files will take up too much space and be really annoying to use on the Web. What can I do about that?
Answer:
You can find an easy solution that converts your files for you and compresses them, so that they don’t take up very much space even though they are PDF files. The best way to do this is using a PDF compression program with conversion capabilities, such as CVISION’s PdfCompressor. I would really recommend PdfCompressor because it makes the whole process easier for you by taking care of all the necessary steps. PdfCompressor can convert the JPEG file into PDF format, compress it, and even OCR it to make it text-searchable. Since you mentioned that you have a group of files, this solution would probably be ideal for you, allowing you to avoid processing individual files manually. Question:
I am trying to find a good PDF compression tool for my office. What are some of the features I should look at when comparing the different products out there?
Answer:
Trying to find the right product for your office can seem overwhelming at first. There are different tools out there offering varying compression capabilities and additional features. The best way to begin your search is to look at features that are most important for your needs, and narrow down the existing products based on what is available.
Two main factors that determine the efficiency of a PDF compression tool are compression rate and speed. Based on how much you need to shrink your files and how much time you can allocate to the process, you can begin to narrow down available products. In addition, you can look for a compressor with OCR capabilities, to make your files text-searchable. The best OCR products offer a high level of accuracy, recognition of multiple languages, and ICR for handwritten text. If your company processes a large volume of documents, you may want to look for a PDF compressor with batch processing capabilities. This allows you to process large groups of files more quickly. If you post PDFs online, web-optimization is important for providing online speed and reliability. For archiving purposes, make certain that the compressor is compatible with PDF/A format, ensuring that your documents are preserved permanently despite future changes in software.

Question:
My company has a huge number of PDF files to compress, and is looking into a PDF compression server. Will your software enable us to set up a PDF compression server?
Answer:
Yes. PdfCompressor can be run on a server, offering all of the benefits of server-based PDF compression. Having a PDF compression server allows you to fully automate the process of PDF compression using watched folders, which means that the PDF compression software on the server watches specific folders on the server or on other machines networked to it. If a document is scanned into one of these folders, or if a PDF file is placed into one of them, it will be automatically compressed by your PDF compression server. PdfCompressor can also automatically use OCR to make your compressed PDF files text-searchable, or to turn them into editable text documents. A free trial version can be downloaded by visiting CVISION’s downloads page, linked below.
